Apple takes the smash-hit AirPods and improves fit, comfort, and sound quality while adding a decent active noise reduction system and great transparency mode. But at this price, they should probably sound just a little better.

The AirPods Pro are Apple’s best true wireless earbuds to date, but they’re also its most expensive. The addition of key features like active noise cancellation, transparency mode, on-board controls and silicone ear tips are all upgrades over the previous two models. Despite Sony’s WF-1000XM3 outperforming these in terms of audio and noise cancellation, the AirPods Pro do a decent job with both, and hands-free Siri is a key feature Sony doesn’t offer.

Apple’s Airpods Pro don’t have to be great for people to buy them. Their simple interface assures iPhone owners will treat them as the default. So, the fact they are great is all the more remarkable. Even Android owners may want to give them a look.

While they don’t quite take the crown for best-in-class sound quality, the AirPods Pro are great true wireless headphones that exceed the standard AirPods in nearly every way.

For just $50 more than the original model with the wireless charging case, these are definitely the ‘buds to get. They sound better than the originals and have a way better fit and active noise cancelling to boot. If you have an iOS device, just get these.
