Canon EOS 6D Mark II Review
As it should be, the EOS 6D II is a better camera than its predecessor in almost every way. With plenty of resolution, respectable burst shooting speeds and pleasing Canon color, it’s a camera that’s capable of producing great images in a variety of situations. Despite this, it is simply overshadowed by competition that is made up of more capable cameras at similar or lower prices.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review
The EOS 6D Mark II is a major step forward from the original 6D, but more in operational speed and performance than outright image quality. It’s a terrific camera to use, but its price puts it up against a number of strong cameras. It’s a really good all-rounder, which would make a great ‘first’ full-frame DSLR.
Canon 6D Mark II Review
While familiar in appearance, the Canon 6D Mark II brings a lot of improvements over its wildly popular predecessor. At the heart of the 6D II is a new 26-megapixel sensor and a DIGIC 7 image processor. These combine for good image quality and impressive overall performance. However, in other ways, the camera feels like a missed opportunity. The dynamic range is disappointing and there is no 4K video. Ultimately, the 6D II is a good entry-level full-frame DSLR even if it feels like it could have been much more.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review
So it’s Canon’s usual story of a feature-set carefully-pruned so not to step on the toes of its higher-end models. If you’re wedded to Canon’s World, you’ll enjoy the 6D II’s excellent touch interface, easy Wifi, effortless GPS tagging, leading movie autofocus, and crisp, clean photo quality.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review
Canon has certainly made the EOS 6D Mark II a more well-rounded and better specified camera than the EOS 6D, but it’s not without its issues. These niggles dull what is otherwise a very nice full-frame DSLR that’s a pleasure to shoot with. It will certainly please Canon users looking to make the move into full-frame photography, but others might be better served elsewhere.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review
It won’t win awards, but the 6D Mark II is still a good workhorse camera.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II
The Canon EOS 6D Mark II improves upon its predecessor with 26-megapixel resolution, improved Live View focus, and a 45-point autofocus system, but its sensor isn’t as good as competing models.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II Review
A notable improvement on the original EOS 6D, but it lacks a few features you’d expect at this price.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review
A good all-rounder for Canon fans, but nothing particularly revolutionary to get excited about
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review
Enthusiasts looking for a robust and well-specified digital SLR will find much to like about the latest full-frame model from Canon
Canon EOS 6D Mark II Review
Overall, the Canon EOS 6D Mark II represents a solid and capable all-rounder for those who are new to the full-frame game, but with a more crowded and diverse market place than we had in 2012, it struggles to truly excite. It’s also quite a high asking price for something which is missing a few longed-for features.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review
With nearly five years passing since the original 6D went on sale the 6D Mark II needed to make some significant upgrades and thankfully it does with a new sensor, a two-generation jump in processing engine, a vari-angle touch-screen and a major overhaul of the autofocus system.
Review: Canon 6D Mk II
Indeed, in some ways I really consider the Canon 6D Mk II to be a camera for the person who doesn’t care a whole lot about technology and what’s inside.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II Expert Review
If you already have the lenses, and want to upgrade from another Canon DSLR, then the 6D Mark II will make a great full-frame Digital SLR. The Canon EOS 6D Mark II does everything asked of it, delivering great image quality.
Canon EOS 6D Mark II review: One of the most versatile full-frame DSLR cameras
If you’ve been thinking about buying a full-frame DSLR but have been waiting for some of the more modern technologies – touchscreen control, a vari-angle screen, Wi-Fi sharing and so forth – then the 6D Mark II does a grand job. For many it will fulfill every need at a far lower price than buying a 5D Mark IV, which gives this full-framer considerable appeal.
